Dearest Wine Club Members,

We hope that you have had a fabulous summer. As we approach the second half of Harvest, a majority of our fruit has been picked; we are now waiting for the final few to be picked for our big, bold reds. The hot, dry weather conditions of 2015 have led to slightly smaller, yet still high quality yields.
At this time, we are so excited about this current wine club shipment because we are releasing some new vintages of Laird wine! Our staff is clamoring for the new release of the 2014 Suscol Ranch Rosé. This closely guarded staff favorite is perfect for the last fleeting days of summer, or that perfect companion for the holiday turkey feast. Second in the line-up is a wonderful full-bodied white wine, the rich and toasty 2014 Red Hen Ranch Chardonnay. This wine is the perfect balance of acidity and richness that one looks for in a chardonnay. The third wine in the shipment is one of our most popular wines, Jillian's Blend. The 2012 Jillian's Blend has great complexity and makes for a food-friendly and stand-alone wine. Robert Parker liked this wine so much he rated it 91 points! Despite the criticisms of the 2011 vintage, our Cabernet Sauvignon is aging quite well. We are re-releasing both the 2011 Napa Valley and Flat Rock Cabernet Sauvignon as they are beginning to show their true potential as elegant, well-structured wines. With the last wine in the line up being the real show stopper… the release of the 2012 Flat Rock Malbec. Due to the extreme limited availability of this wine, there is a maximum of 3 bottles per order.

2014 Suscol Ranch Rosé of Syrah

Retail: $20 / Wine Club: $16

Notes: With a unique cranberry color, vibrant aromatics of strawberry, rose petals, and savory notes of toasted grains provide a beautiful entry. An indulgent texture and tart berries mid-palate give way to ripe red cherries with a lingering finish that hints at dried cranberries.

2014 Red Hen Ranch Chardonnay

Retail: $35 / Wine Club: $28

Notes: Pale golden color introduces aromas of honeysuckle, juicy peach, and vanilla waffle cone. The creamy palate, layered with complex flavors of apple pie, lemon custard, and just a hint of charred oak, has a delightful lingering finish.

2012 Jillian's Blend Red Wine

Retail: $45 / Wine Club: $36

(65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Syrah, 10% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot)
91 Points Robert Parker

Notes: A sweet nose of butterscotch leads to a tornado of flavor, including homemade blackberry pie and eucalyptus. A very lively and spice filled finish leaves a lingering finish of baking spices, coffee and pipe tobacco. With a rich body and moderate tannins this will be a show stopper for years to come.

2011 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Retail: $58 / Wine Club: $46.40

Notes: The deep crimson appearance offers a rich bouquet of ripe strawberry, cranberry, roasted coffee bean, and brown sugar. Leathery tannins are balanced with bright notes of juicy red cherry, fresh tobacco, and tea leaf on the palate. A pleasing finish of cedar and dark fruit lingers.

2011 Flat Rock Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon

Retail: $90 / Wine Club: $72

Notes: Opaque garnet hue; saddle and unlit cigar make for an alluring, masculine nose. Cherry fruit leather dusted with white pepper mid-palate later reveal deeper tones of fennel and caramelized plum with a finessed grip. Melted road tar and rich blue fruit deliver a persistent, velvety finish.

2012 Flat Rock Ranch Malbec

Retail: $65 / Wine Club: $52

Notes: Deep red-violet appearance gives way to a rich bouquet of black current, cigar box, and blackberry. Rich juicy palate with leathery tannins, notes of roasted coffee beans and red plum with just a hint of eucalyptus.
