Happy New Year, Laird Club Members!

We hope this February wine club shipment helps you ease into 2016 and warms your soul during these last few weeks of winter. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, love is in the air, and the Laird team is excited to share a combination of new releases and vintage wines. We are more than happy to fully customize your shipment. Tuesday, February 16th is the last day to kindly do so.

We have chosen a broad wine assortment for your February shipment, ranging from bright to bold in flavor profile and sure to be instant palate pleasers: Making a comeback appearance after its first release in 2012, the 2009 Jillian's Blend (93 points by Wine Spectator); A favorite among many of our members and wine critics, the 2011 Flat Rock Cabernet Sauvignon (91 points by Wine Spectator); Rich and savory, the 2013 Phantom Ranch Pinot Noir continues to bridge the gap between Napa and Burgundy; and the 2012 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, making it's long anticipated debut (90 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate).

2009 Jillian's Red Wine Blend, Napa Valley

Retail: $58.00 / Club Laird: $46.40

93 points by Wine Spectator

Notes: Named after Ken Laird's granddaughter, this dark red-violet wine is just as complex and fun as little Jillian herself. The pronounced nose, reminiscent of black cherry, candied plum, and vanilla, is rounded off with a potpourri of blackberry, licorice, chocolate and spice on the palate, while soft tannins compliment the long finish.

2011 Flat Rock Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon, Yountville

Retail: $90.00 / Club Laird: $72.00

91 points by Wine Spectator

Notes: Opaque garnet hue; saddle and unlit cigar make for an alluring, masculine nose. Cherry fruit leather dusted with white pepper mid-palate later reveal deeper tones of fennel and caramelized plum with a finessed grip. Melted road tar and rich blue fruit deliver a persistent, velvety finish.

2012 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Yountville

Retail: $58.00 / Wine Club: $46.40

90 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Notes: The enticing violet appearance offers a developing bouquet of ripe Bing cherry, currant, charred oak and unsweetened chocolate. Deep velvety tannins are balanced with bright notes of juicy plum, fresh tobacco, and coffee beans on the palate. An elegant smooth full mouth leads to a delicate and lingering finish.

2013 Phantom Ranch Pinot Noir, Napa-Carneros

Retail: $55.00 / Wine Club: $44.00

Notes: Ruby hue with a hint of violet. Savory aromatics resembling dried herbs and black olives are complemented by sweet notes of pomegranate with a subtle smokiness. The palate offers the perfect balance of delicate tannins and acidity while flavors of cherry and Herbes de Provence unfold right to the very end.
